Rev. Gary Benfold
Gary has been minister at Moordown since 1997 after spending seventeen years pastoring a church in Buckinghamshire. He has a passion for explaining the Bible and its relevance to believers and unbelievers alike and tries to do so in a clear and jargon-free manner. He says ‘I know that Jesus Christ is Lord of the universe and answers the deepest needs of people’s hearts and souls. We all need forgiveness, acceptance and certainty; only Jesus truly gives those things.’

Rev. Richard Baxter
Richard began working as assistant pastor at Moordown in August 2015, where he has a particular responsibility for the youth and children’s work. He trained for pastoral ministry in rainy South Wales before making the move with his wife and two young children to sunny Bournemouth. He is excited to see the message of the good news of Jesus Christ at work in Bournemouth transforming the lives of all kinds of people, of all ages.
Ed joined the team part-time in August 2016 as ministry assistant after graduating from a Bible school near Christchurch. He is in a training role, but helps with the youth and children’s work as well as getting involved in a number of other aspects of church life. When he is not working at Moordown, he is managing the FoodBank warehouse in Bournemouth or spending time with his young family. Ed is passionate about growing leaders with Jesus’ teaching to change our community for the better.
If you want to know more about us and what we believe as a church, or if you want to find out about church membership here, you’ll find it helpful to have a chat to one of the elders.
